Gastroenterology

VeloSource has a Gastroenterology Opportunity - Springfield, MA

• Coverage Need: 1 week per month, ongoing
• Call Structure: approx 1:4 /Fri 4pm-Fri 4pm
• Floor/ED/ICU/emergent consults and endoscopies (when needed)
• Carry Beeper overnight
• Clinical Areas: Adult, Hospital, Gastro, endoscopy
• Onsite Lab
• Onsite X-Ray
• Physicians in Group: 4
• Average Number of Patients Per Day: 4-12 per day
• EUS/ERCP - NOT REQUIRED

Required Procedures:  

• Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
• Esophageal Manometry Interpretation
• Small Bowel Biopsy
• Lower GI Endoscopy
• Sigmoidoscopy
• Colonoscopy
• Liver Biopsy

Required Types of Upper GI Endoscopy: 

• with Biopsy
• with Foreign Body Removal
• with Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery vs. Laser)
• with Injection of Varices
• with Banding of Varices
• Diagnostic
• Therapeutic
• with PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)

• Board Certified/Board Eligible - [REQUIRED] BC preferred
• ACTIVE MA LICSENSE - [REQUIRED]
• No outpatient expectations
• BLS - [REQUIRED]
• ERCP certification is a nice to have but not a must
